SBS is doing a lot of things better than the ABC and dumping on George will send even more of us looking for something better than tired old ABC arrogance.

Tania is concerned about Willy Wonker's dark side ? Why? Her/own parents weren't worried and look what they fed us ;hansel and gretel make fine dramatic contrasts.The main innocence I can see is in our generation with its saccarin like whitewashed stories. Children are not innocent and education and " good parenting" will not keep any badness out of them - watch the duplo being shared.
Rather more helpful, I think , is to use the scary talk about evil and choice in away which helps children deal with it. how choice and temptation are real. By exposing our children to the realities of life outside the home we can perhaps then help them deal with the problem in their own hearts and homes. Blaming the TV or the really bad models of behavior that are all around us is avoiding the issue .
