Yes ! Pat Mcnamara’s happy parade on ABC 774 this week made me really mad . More worrying still , He advocated the promotion of someone who knows best how to sell things - is there anything of the farm left to sell? There will always be someone new wanting to be president but is there anyone sitting in the front row of the Nats ? Pats confidence suggests he still thinks everything is Ok in the country and even like John Cain that, its impressions that count ultimately.
The ABC's great aust story on Peter Andrews highlighted a deep reality that Kennett at least now knows – that primary industry sectors are in a “notalk” mode and this is very serious for mental health and the National party and ultimately the conservatives. And where is the labour party in all this ? Lost up some reactionary drill hole?

What a scoop if some non conformist woke up to WHY we waste so much money on the environment . Simililarrly it would be a great waste if all the noise about that fantastic story on Peter Andrews ( Australain story ABCTV this week) got no further than a slanging match about " who knows best " .

Sure to liven up the tired old ABC and give it some credibility - just like that great story on Aust story (ABCTV) did last week - enviroemnatl matters are too complex to be massaged into simplicity by either side of politics , their food chain elements and the increasingly uncontrollable nimby knowalls . small local voices matter
