lets start with sheep . OK so its important to care for sheep. But can you truly care for them when your not onsite . Care and commitment go together MDA is great stuff - beyond that a lot of talk and quick fix is irresponsible.
I don't have any problem with animal activists raising a legitimate question onsite .
what I do object to absolutely is all the rushing around and setting quick fix imperatives when the big boogieman of big business generates a lot of bleeting noise from the sheep back home . http://users.gsat.net.au/tuf/battleground. Mcluhan would have a field day, as would those who study maladaptive trends to media ( Telecom Towards 2000 reports). Physiologically those animals must be presummed to be in clover, as the last paddock they were in they could hardly compete with others for a blade of grass . Do the newage animists believe in competition, predation and animal husbandry ? Tell us more ! Why do we get the sense that wannabe conservation leaders are more happy making pronouncements in someone 's elses backyard than suggesting solutions to windfarms, murray water management and when you can cut a branch off a tree in our own backyard. How caring ,responsible and intellectually defensible is that ?
